Processing Times:

Processing times will vary depending on my work load and are in addition to the shipping type you choose (current wait time can be found at the top of my website). All products on my website are hand made to order and subject to current processing times, unless they are described as "ready to ship" in which case they will be shipped between 5-7 days from when you placed your order.

How It Works:

Each month I open a new collection to order and add new "ready to ship" pieces. If you want to order something other than the current collection, I'm sorry but I can't make any exceptions 💔
On the product page you can sign up for the waitlist to be notified when it's in stock, and make sure you're subscribed to my email list for updates and early access!

Shipping:

I do currently ship within the US and Internationally. A signature will be required upon delivery for all orders over $200. For international orders, shipping/taxes/duties will all be applied at checkout.

Broke In Hearted Leather is not responsible for stolen packages. If USPS says it was delivered they will not honor my insurance, and due to the hand made nature of my products I cannot afford to replace packages.

Leather Care:

I completely understand that you want to take care of your piece so it lasts forever. The truth is, wanting vegetable tanned leather to stay perfect forever defeats it's whole purpose. It is meant to absorb the traces of your life to create its unique patina. You do need to moisturize/condition your leather to ensure it lives to it's maximum potential. You can use any leather conditioner/moisturizer that is not colored (different from soap or cleaner) about twice a year. Start small, a little goes a long way! Conditioning will darken your piece a bit so don't be alarmed, it will lighten up again with use. I recommend Smith's Leather Balm and they have great instructions on how to use the product on their website.
As far as weather proofing goes, you are welcome to if you want (especially if you live somewhere particularly wet/rainy) however I don't do that on any of my products and I recommend just doing your best to keep it from getting wet (soaked mainly - small drops won't typically do anything) and if it does get soaked or water spots then embrace that part of it's story ❤️

Leather:

My products are made from top grade, full grain leather from various tanneries that are members of The Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium. Members of the Consortium agree to use only traditional natural ingredients, and to ensure that no animal is killed for its skin (ie. they only use byproducts of the meat industry).
I use only vegetable tanned leather, which means the process to tan the hide uses tree bark and vegetables, instead of chemicals. This process is kinder on our environment, and allows for a beautiful natural patina over time. This veg tan leather is their top grade, it is full grain and is soft to the touch with a small amount of firmness. It has a unique rustic look that adds beautiful depth to the leather. You may notice some character markings on your piece - the hides come to me showing most beauty marks, wrinkles, scars etc in them. I do not cut around these kinds of marks in an effort to reduce waist, and because I believe these kinds of markings tell a story and only make the piece more beautiful.

As long as you reach out within that time frame, I will honor the cancellation (even if it takes me a day or 2 to reply to you).
If you receive your order and are unhappy, please reach out to me so I can try to make it right, if possible.
